Power-to-price framing

Lamborghini Huracán carries 631 bhp at roughly RM 7.1 per horsepower per day. It breathes at atmospheric pressure, which means the throttle answers instantly and the interesting part of the rev range is the top third. All-wheel drive puts it down cleanly, which matters more than the power figure on a wet Federal Highway.

Held on your card, not charged. It scales with what this car costs to repair rather than with what it costs to rent — a forged wheel and a bespoke tyre size are the reason the figure looks like that.

About Lamborghini

Sant'Agata's whole argument is that an engine should be an event.

Lamborghini exists because Ferruccio Lamborghini thought his Ferrari had a bad clutch and got a rude answer when he said so. Sixty years later the company still behaves like it is proving a point. Where most of the industry downsized and turbocharged, Sant'Agata spent the last decade defending atmospheric induction harder than anyone: the Huracán's 5.2-litre V10 and the Aventador's 6.5-litre V12 are the last naturally aspirated engines of their kind that a normal person can rent and drive on a public road.

RM / bhp is the daily self-drive rate divided by the manufacturer’s brake horsepower, to one decimal. It is a blunt instrument — it ignores tyre width, kerb weight and where the torque actually lives — and it is still the fastest way to see what a badge is charging you. Power bars are scaled against 640 bhp.
