A KLIA handover works best when it is planned and badly when it is improvised. Send us the flight number and we track it; if you land two hours late the car is still there and nobody pays a waiting charge. We meet at the arrivals kerb at Main Terminal or KLIA2 with the car, do the walkaround under the terminal lights, take the deposit hold and the licence copies on the spot, and you are on the ELITE within twenty minutes of clearing customs.

That drive into town is genuinely one of the best pieces of road in Malaysia and it is wasted on most arrivals. The ELITE from KLIA up to the Putrajaya interchange is wide, immaculately surfaced, gently cambered and — outside the Friday evening exodus — nearly empty. It is a 110 km/h limit with active enforcement including average-speed cameras, so this is not an invitation to be silly. It is an invitation to sit in top gear at a legal cruise with a naturally aspirated engine ticking over at 2,500 rpm and appreciate that the car rides better than anything else you have driven this year.

Practical notes. International licence holders need to bring both the home licence and either an International Driving Permit or a certified English translation — we check this at handover and we cannot release a car without it, no exceptions, because our insurance will not cover the drive. Fuel policy is full-to-full and the last RON 97 station before the airport on the return leg is at the ELITE Sepang layby; miss it and you are refuelling at airport prices. Returns can be done at the same arrivals kerb or at the Subang yard, whichever suits your outbound flight.
