Driving and delivering in Mid Valley & Bangsar South

Mid Valley and the Bangsar South development next to it sit on top of the busiest road junction in the city, and that is both the problem and the point. On a weekday afternoon the approach roads from the Federal Highway, Jalan Syed Putra and the Kerinchi Link back up badly. On a Sunday at 07:00 you can be on the Federal doing a legal cruise thirty seconds after leaving the basement, and that immediacy is the reason a lot of our regulars stage from here.

The Megamall basements are enormous and mostly fine for a low car, with one exception: the ramps between Zone B and Zone C have a sharper transition than the rest and will touch a front splitter if you take them straight on. Angle across them. The Bangsar South towers on Jalan Kerinchi are newer, wider and easier, though nearly all of them require the visitor plate to be pre-registered with the management office — send it to us the day before and we will handle it.

For driving, your two good options both start on the Federal. West takes you towards Subang and the Guthrie Corridor; east and then north on the SMART tunnel gets you across town to the AKLEH and the DUKE without touching a traffic light. The Kerinchi Link viaduct itself, incidentally, is one of the better places in the city to hear an engine — the concrete parapets on both sides bounce the exhaust straight back at you, and a naturally aspirated V10 through there at 4,000 rpm with the windows down is worth the toll on its own.

RM / bhp is the daily self-drive rate divided by the manufacturer’s brake horsepower, to one decimal. It is a blunt instrument — it ignores tyre width, kerb weight and where the torque actually lives — and it is still the fastest way to see what a badge is charging you. Power bars are scaled against 565 bhp.

Mid Valley & Bangsar South deliveries — asked and answered

How quickly can you deliver a supercar to Mid Valley & Bangsar South?+

We quote 60 minutes, megamall zones or bangsar south towers from confirmation, and the run from our Subang Jaya base takes about 16 minutes off-peak. Book the day before if the handover point is a condominium — visitor plate registration is the thing that slows deliveries down, not the drive.

Is there anywhere near Mid Valley & Bangsar South actually worth driving?+

Federal access: Immediate. Ramp watch: Megamall Zone B/C transition. Best noise: Kerinchi Link viaduct. For a proper drive, everyone in the Klang Valley ends up on the same four roads — the Karak, the old Genting climb, the Ulu Yam loop and the Guthrie Corridor. Our route write-up covers what each one is actually like.

Do I need to be present for the handover in Mid Valley & Bangsar South?+

Yes. The named driver has to be there with the licence, the IDP if you are visiting, and the card for the deposit hold. We film the walkaround inspection with you present and send you the file before we leave — that video protects you more than it protects us.
